About Rosy

Rosy Zhong is an educator, mentor, and life coach with over a decade of experience helping students cultivate confidence, intellectual curiosity, and a strong sense of direction. She has worked with over 50 students and families—many of whom have launched meaningful personal projects, earned competitive scholarships, and been admitted to top universities—not by chasing checklists, but by developing clarity, initiative, and purpose.

Rosy’s approach integrates academic excellence with personal growth, guiding students to build self-awareness, critical thinking, and independence. Rather than focusing solely on college applications, she mentors students as they navigate school, identity, and long-term goals with clarity and confidence. When students are grounded in who they are, college and career success follow—not as the destination, but as the natural outcome of their growth.

Rosy earned her B.A. in Economics, Geography, and Education from Dartmouth College, where she pursued rigorous academic interests in education, research, and cross-cultural learning. She served as a teaching assistant for introductory computer science, conducted education policy and equity research at both Dartmouth and UC Irvine, and completed the Tuck Business Bridge Program—a selective, MBA-style immersion where she led a corporate valuation project presented to executives and faculty.

Outside of formal academics, Rosy consistently led initiatives and programs that allowed her to teach, coach, and build community. She coached the club boxing team, mentored first-generation students through the First-Year Student Enrichment Program, guided peers through the Sexual Assault Peer Alliance, and led outreach for the Chinese Culture Society. Over the past decade, she has also worked as a Chinese language teacher, coached USTA junior tennis players, and developed student programs as an educator in both the U.S. and China. These experiences reflect her holistic approach to student growth—grounded in intellectual rigor, character-building, and real-world engagement.

Born in NingXiang, a small rural town in southern China, Rosy began attending private school at 2.5 years old—a reflection of her family’s deep belief in the power of education. She immigrated to the U.S. in sixth grade without speaking English and found her footing thanks to the support of teachers who recognized her potential. In high school, she graduated as salutatorian while founding and scaling a peer tutoring club to over 100 members, captaining her varsity tennis team, and coaching younger players.

A senior seminar at Dartmouth—centered around Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s writing—reshaped her understanding of education. One line in particular stayed with her: “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character—that is the goal of true education.”

This philosophy now anchors her approach. Rosy believes students deserve more than checklists and polished résumés—they need the space, support, and structure to explore their strengths, values, and individual learning processes

Outside of work, Rosy is an avid tennis player, part-time pickleballer, kickboxer, and food enthusiast who’s always exploring new restaurants in Seattle. She also enjoys cooking, traveling with her family, and volunteering in her local community.
